Molde FK return to Eliteserien action on Sunday with a trip to face Lillestrøm at Åråsen. The match follows a 3-0 friendly win over Kristiansund BK last weekend.
The sides last met in April, when Lillestrøm claimed a 1-0 victory at Aker Stadion. In their last league match, against Aalesund in September, Molde started with Adam Posiadała in goal and a defence of Martin Linnes, Niklas Ødegård, Fredrik Dahl and Sheriff Kabini. The midfield was anchored by Emil Breivik and David Daga, with Sivert Granaas and Oskar Spiten-Nysæter on the wings. That lineup may offer clues for Sunday's selection.
Molde currently sit fourth in the Eliteserien with 36 points from 21 games. They have won four of their last five league matches, with the only defeat coming against Aalesund last month. In that game, Kristian Lonebu scored a late consolation goal assisted by Breivik. The team's top scorer this season is Eirik Hestad with eight goals.
Lillestrøm, in sixth place, arrive after a 3-0 loss to Viking and a 2-1 defeat to Torreense in the Europa League. However, they beat Vålerenga 2-0 in their most recent home league fixture.
Sunday's clash represents an important test for Molde as they aim to close the 14-point gap to leaders Viking. A win would keep the team firmly in the hunt for a podium finish.
