Molde Football Club is deeply affected by the news that our former midfielder, Petter Rudi, has been diagnosed with ALS. We in Molde Football Club are deeply affected by the news that our former midfielder, Petter Rudi, has been diagnosed with ALS. – This is a very bad news that affects us strongly. Petter has worked in the club for many years. He is close to us in everyday life, and works engaged with the football strategy we are now building in Molde Football Club, says managing director Vegard Storvik. The club has had a close and good dialogue with Petter in recent times. – I have had many fine conversations with Petter. It makes a strong impression to experience both his openness and strength in meeting something so serious. At the same time, I feel a great humility – and gratitude – that he, despite a challenging situation, experiences it as meaningful and still wants to contribute and be an important part of everyday life in Molde Football Club. Petter has through his life in football acquired a unique competence, and contributes within scouting, talent- and football development to the best for the club. At the same time as Petter's own focus is directed towards taking care of the family, slowing down the development of the disease, he will still contribute to Molde Football Club reaching its ambitions and strategies back to the top of Norwegian football. – In Molde Football Club, we often talk about “we”. Now it means more than ever. MFK-family is a big WE – a community that bears when life is most challenging. Now is the time to stand together around Petter, one of our biggest profiles, with consideration, strength and warmth. The dedication, loyalty and pride he has given through a whole life for football and for the club, is something we all have taken part in – and now it's our turn to give something back, in the form of support, care, unity and belonging. The whole Molde Football Club wants to express its support and sympathy with Petter and his loved ones in this very challenging time. Petter and his family ask for peace in this challenging time. It is a strong wish that they are not contacted or mentioned beyond this message. Vegard Storvik, Managing Director Molde Football AS
