Molde football club achieved an impressive 2-1 victory over Sandefjord in Sindre Tjelmeland's debut as coach. The match took place on Saturday, and Molde climbed to fourth place in the table, eight points behind the leaders Viking. Fredrik Gulbrandsen and Eirik Hestad scored the goals that secured the win for the home team. Tjelmeland, who has been ready as the new coach for some time, had to finish the season with his previous employer Lech Poznan before he could take over at Molde. Martin Falk has been managing the team in the meantime. During the match, Molde showed strength, with Gulbrandsen opening the scoring after just six minutes. Hestad doubled the lead after the break, and although Sandefjord reduced the deficit late in the game, Molde maintained control. Tjelmeland has signed a four-year contract with the club, and his appointment came after Per-Mathias Høgmo lost his job in September last year. Molde is now looking forward to a long World Cup break before their next match against Aalesund on July 11.
