Molde has appointed Vegard Storvik as its new top executive. He comes from a position as project manager for Bodø/Glimt's new stadium. Storvik will combine his job as managing director of Molde with continuing to work for Bodø/Glimt. Chairman Leif-Arne Langøy confirmed the appointment at a press conference on Tuesday. Storvik has been project manager for Glimt's new stadium in Bodø for the past year. He will continue to work on this project in parallel with his job at Molde. Molde has had a tough start to the season. Øystein Neerland has been absent due to illness for the past few weeks. The club confirmed the situation at the end of April. Odin Holm Olsen has been acting as Molde's director in Neerland's absence. He has been responsible for the club's economy and operations for the past few years. Langøy pointed out that the club's poor start to the season was also a reason for the decision. Molde is a large organization, and everything is connected. If we are to have a good performance culture and people who expect things from each other and deliver, we also need a strong leader at the top. Storvik will bring new energy to the club. He says the club has been working to find someone who can look at the club from the outside and see it in a new light. We all know where we are in terms of sports today. Now we need to bring in some energy in several areas, not just sports. Storvik will be responsible for the sports selection, so this is not just an administrative position. He will work hard to manage the club until Neerland returns. We wish Øystein a good recovery.
