Molde came to Lerkendal with a new player in the starting lineup, Ola Brynhildsen, who had just returned to the club on loan from Midtjylland. It took only just over four minutes before he presented himself with a goal. Brynhildsen curled the ball past Sander Tangvik in the Rosenborg goal and gave Molde an early lead. Molde coach Erling Moe was happy to see Brynhildsen back in the team and said that he was an important player for them. Rosenborg was the better team in the match and had several opportunities to score. Edvard Tagseth scored the 2-1 goal for Rosenborg in extra time and secured the win for the home team. Ola Sæter told TV 2 that they had a great game and didn't give up much. Molde came to Lerkendal with a reduced squad and had to do without Magnus Wolff Eikrem and Veton Berisha. Mats Møller Dæhli was also not in Trondheim. Rosenborg is the form team in Eliteserien and had won their last three matches. The team had taken 12 of 15 possible points in their last five matches. Brynhildsen was goal-threatening when he was in Molde last time and scored 42 goals and had 26 assists in 138 games in his first period in Molde. He came directly from Denmark to Trondheim and hasn't even had time to visit Molde yet. Molde is now starting a new period with matches and hopes to be able to win more points. Rosenborg striker Noah Holm said that they had the ball and pressed all the time, but that Molde had a good period early in the game. Substitute Emil Konradsen Ceide got the ball after a short corner and passed it to an unmarked Adrian Pereira who shot the ball with his left foot into the corner and equalized for Rosenborg. Molde had more than enough to defend themselves against the end of the game and Rosenborg pushed for the win. Then came the goal that made Tagseth the match winner. Molde coach Erling Moe was disappointed with the loss, but said that they had a good game and that they had to work harder to win more points.
