Fredrik Gulbrandsen leaves Molde after contract dispute

Molde and Fredrik Gulbrandsen have agreed to terminate their working relationship. Gulbrandsen did not get his desired long-term contract.

What happened?

Fredrik Gulbrandsen returned to Molde in 2023 after a stint abroad. He also played for Molde from 2013 to 2016 before moving on to a foreign club.

Why is this important for Molde?

Gulbrandsen has been a fantastic ambassador for Molde Football Club, both on and off the pitch. He has delivered great performances on the field, but perhaps even more importantly, he has been a person who supporters, teammates, and staff have valued highly.

What's next?

Molde also reports that Gulbrandsen will continue to train with the club until he decides on a new club. Molde is currently in 10th place in the Eliteserien with 39 points, 12 wins, 3 draws, and 15 losses from 30 games. The next match is at home against Sarpsborg 08 FF on August 2, 2026.
